Pauline Hershberger Gingerich

Pauline Hershberger Gingerich, 83, of Abbeville, wife of Pete Gingerich, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 20, 2024. She was born in Virginia Beach, VA., June 18, 1940, to the late Joseph I. and Sadie Wengerd Hershberger. 

Mrs. Gingerich was a member of Lighthouse Ministries of Abbeville. Pauline, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother enjoyed many things in life and especially being with family. Her creative talents were very evident in painting, design, plants and flowers. She had a compassionate heart, that was demonstrated in mentoring ladies and volunteering at Leath correctional institution for many years. Pauline will be remembered as a woman of prayer and her love for worshiping her Savior.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Daniel Gingerich, a brother, John L. Hershberger and a sister, Elma H. Swartzentruber. 

She is survived by her husband, Pete, of 63 years of the home; four children, Mike Gingerich (Kathy), Gary Gingerich (Lisa) of Abbeville, Regina Gingerich (Paul) of Hartwell, GA, and Rhonda G. Winger of Abbeville; a sister, Betty Mast (Walter) of Montana; a sister-in-law, Ruth Hershberger of Jessup, GA; twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends from 4:00PM to 5:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Lighthouse Ministries of Abbeville. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Pauline H. Gingerich will be 2:00PM on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Lighthouse Ministries. A private family burial will be Lighthouse Cemetery.
