Pauline Scott Stone, 86, of Abbeville, wife of the late Raymond A. Stone, passed away, peacefully, Thursday, October 1, 2009, surrounded by her family, at the Carlisle Nursing Center in Due West, SC. She was born in Abbeville County to the late George E. and Pearl Mahaffey Scott. Mrs. Stone was a member of the Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Bud and Emmett Scott; and a sister, Ruby Mobley. Surviving Mrs. Stone is her son, Andy Stone and his wife Shelia of Abbeville; a daughter, Judy Beaty and her husband S.M. "Buz" Beaty, III of Abbeville; a brother, Perrin Scott and four sisters, Sookie Able, Inez Stone, Mary Cartledge and Pat Ware all of Abbeville; three grandchildren, Mack Beaty, IV, Jeff Stone and his wife Heather and Andrea Taylor and her husband Stephen; and two great-grandchildren, Kate Taylor and Luke Stone. The family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 3:30PM on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 4:00PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. John Miller, Jr. and Rev. Tom Cartledge officiating. Burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery. The family is at their respective homes.
