Peggy Joyce Jones

Peggy Joyce Jones, 86, of Belton, died Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at AnMed Medical Center in Anderson. She was born in Anderson County to the late Ralph and Lucia Hawkins Jones.

Peggy attended school in Honea Path and retired from the former Clark-Schwebel Plant as a weaver. Family and faith were the cornerstones of her life. She had a profound love for her family, cherishing the moments spent together and creating memories that will be forever held dear in their hearts. Peggy was a member of Jones Chapel Church of God of Prophecy where she served as the Choir Director, a role through which she inspired and brought together many through her love of music and worship. She will be remembered for her warm spirit and unwavering commitment to those who had the privilege of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Etrulia Ownbey, Mary Ann Davis, Diane Rodriguez, Jean Holloway, Johnny Faye Jones and Jimmy Jones.

Peggy is survived by her brother, Jerry Dale Jones of Belton; two sisters, Linda Cooley of Belton and Jane Long of Starr; a brother-in-law, Freddie Rodriguez of Belton; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends 2:00PM – 3:00PM, Friday, January 31, 2025, at Jones Chapel Church of God of Prophecy. Funeral services will begin at 3:00PM in the church sanctuary with Rev. Brent McAlister and Rev. Jimmy Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
