Phillip Wayne Waters, 59, of Abbeville, died Thursday, November 29, 2018 in Greenwood. He was born in Abbeville to the late Dewitt Waters, Jr. and Mavis Williams Waters.
Phillip graduated from Abbeville High School, Class of 1978. He was associated with the South Carolina National Guard in Abbeville for six years. Phillip was employed with Burnstein Precision Castings for more than14 years. He was the founder of the Narcotics Anonymous Chapter in Abbeville over 20 years ago with a group of three. When Phillip was no longer able to continue with the program, there were over 40 people involved with the Abbeville Chapter. He worshipped at Southside Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, T. Vann Waters and a nephew, Jamie McCurry.
Phillip is survived by his sister Mona Price (Jim Brown) of McCormick, sister-in-law, Janice Waters of Lake Secession; three nieces, Pennie Nagel (Adam), Shari Creswell (Jon), Jennifer Chrisley; a nephew, Blake Waters; and innumerable great-nieces and nephews.
The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the Phillip’s many caregivers for their attentive care and compassion given to him over the last two years.
