Rachel P. Allison, 88, of Due West, wife of Dill Allison, died Friday, November 23, 2007 at her residence. She was born in Mooresville, NC to the late Robert L. and Margaret Cowan Patterson. Mrs. Allison was a graduate of Flora McDonald/St. Andrews College. She was a dedicated and active member of the Due West A.R.P. Church serving in many of the different circle groups. Mrs. Allison retired from the Abbeville County Public School System and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family of nine children. Surviving Mrs. Allison is her husband of almost 66 years of the home, a son, Bob Allison and his wife Bert of Pickens, SC; a daughter, Marilyn Simmons and her husband David of Peru; five grandchildren, David Allison and his wife Rhonda, Mark Allison, Matthew Simmons and his wife Kseinja, Stephanie Edgar and her husband Todd, Michael John Simmons; and a great-granddaughter, Sarah Allison. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Monday, November 26, 2007 at the Due West A.R.P. Church with the Rev. Calvin Draffin and the Rev. Lee Kennerly officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the services. The family is at the residence. Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Allison may be sent to the Due West A.R.P.
