Ralph Fields, Sr., 96, of Abbeville, husband of the late Evelyn Christine Fields, died Sunday, March 2, 2025 surrounded by his family at his home. He was born in Anderson County, SC to the late Bryant and Bertha Brock Fields.
Mr. Fields proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He dedicated many years of service at Bloomsburg Plant and the Abbeville Milliken Plant before his retirement. Afterward, he continued to contribute to his community by working with the Piedmont Agency on Aging and providing security at Prysmian Cable and Thermaflex. He was a member of the Congregational Holiness Church.
Mr. Fields cherished his time spent fishing, traveling to the mountains, and most importantly, enjoying the company of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, Ralph Fields, Jr., as well as two sisters, Katherine Knox and Grace Campbell.
Surviving Mr. Fields is his daughter, Carolyn Powell of Abbeville; two grandchildren, Michele Jackson (Bobby) and Chad Powell (Stacia); three great-grandchildren, Nikki Crisp (Jordyn), Nathan Jackson, and Chloe Powell; and a sister, Dot King of Belton.
Graveside services, with military honors, will be 11:00AM Thursday, March 6, 2025, in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Rev. John Ellis officiating.
The family is at the home.
