Ray A. "Gus" Crawford Jr.

Ray 'Gus' Augustus Crawford, Jr., 67, of Abbeville, SC, husband of Shirley C. Crawford, died February 1, 2015 at the Abbeville Area Medical Center. He was born in Abbeville to the late Ray Augustus, Sr. and Wilma Lucille Uldrick Crawford. Mr. Crawford was a graduate of Abbeville High School and attended Clemson University. He was honored to serve his country in the US Army. Mr. Crawford was an Engineer with the CSX Railroad and retired after 48 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Mr. Crawford is survived by his wife of 43 years of the home; his son, Will Crawford of Columbia, IL; his daughter, Anna McMillan and her husband Shawn of Charlotte, NC; his sister, Jane C. White and her husband David of Due West; four grandchildren, Anna-Claire "Niu Niu", Sara Park "Yoo Ran", Campbell, and Kennedy; nieces, Beth Cobb, Emily White, Katy Popple; and nephew, Joel Osmelowski. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 3, 2015, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Harris Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11:00am, Wednesday, February 4, 2015, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. Chris Leonard and Rev. Debby Plumstead-Marshall.
