Rebecca Ann 'Becky' Sutherland McConnell

Rebecca Ann ‘Becky’ Sutherland McConnell, 76, of McCormick, wife of Harold McConnell, died Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the Hospice House in Greenwood.  She was born in McCormick to the James and Mary Jane Morrah Sutherland.

Becky graduated from McCormick High School, Class of 1965.  She was employed as a sales clerk for Reid Motor Company for 20 years.  Becky also served as a teacher’s aide for the McCormick County School system and as a hostess at Hickory Knob.  Her warm and friendly personality endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her.  She possessed an extraordinary ability to connect with others, never encountering a stranger.  Becky was a member of the Willington Presbyterian Church, where she served as an Elder and the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Harold, of the home; daughter, Missy Wines (Tim) of McCormick; and a grandson, Graham Wines.

The family will receive friends 1:00 PM – 2:00PM, Monday, October 30, 2023, at Harris Funeral Home.  Funeral services will begin at 2:00PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Lee P. Kennerly and Rev. Mike Dorn officiating.  Burial will follow in Bethia Cemetery.
