Rev. James Allen Loughner, 75, of Due West, husband of Vicki Whitman Loughner, died Saturday, June 11, 2022, at his residence. He was born on Uniontown, PA to the late Donald Doran Loughner and Wanda Elaine Thomas Loughner.
Rev. Loughner graduated from Aliquippa High School in Aliquippa, PA and Edinboro University in Edinboro, PA. Following graduation from college, he joined the United States Army from 1968 – 1970 serving during the Vietnam War. After service to his country, he continued his education by receiving a Master's degree in Psychology from James Madison University and a Master of Divinity degree from Erskine Seminary. Rev. Loughner’s vocation was serving as an A.R.P minister, pastoring various churches in South Carolina. He was appointed to the Board of Trustees of Erskine College and a member of the Second Presbytery, ARP Synod.
Rev. Loughner is survived by his wife of 49 years, Vicki; two children, Benjamin ‘Ben’ Loughner (Nicolle) and Christina Hughes, all of Due West; six grandchildren, Whit, Thomas, Scout Loughner, Anna Pinson (Cody), Allison Armstrong (Richard) and Caitlin Lee (Elijah); a great-grandson, Cayson Lee.
Funeral services, with military honors, will be 1:00PM, Thursday, June 16, 2022 in Harris Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Scott Moore officiating. A private burial will be held at M. J. ‘Dolly’ Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
The family is at the home in Due West.
