Robert E. "Bobby" Hughes

Robert E. 'Bobby' Hughes, 64, of Abbeville, husband of Becky Yon Hughes, died Sunday, November 02, 2014 at the Hospice House in Greenwood, SC. He was born in Abbeville to the late Harold and Clara Roberts Hughes. Mr. Hughes attended Abbeville High School and retired after 30 years of dedicated service with Pirelli Power Cables & Systems. He loved collecting antiques and spending lots of time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Butch Hughes and a niece, Becky. Surviving Mr. Hughes are his wife of 45 years, Becky, of the home; a daughter, Alana Timms of Abbeville; two sons, Chris Hughes and his wife Wendy and Lee Hughes and his wife Kristin all of Abbeville; a sister, Winnie Taylor and her husband Steve of Abbeville; a sister-in-law, Betty Hughes of Greenwood; and eight grandchildren, T.J. Timms, Derek Hughes, Landon Timms, Brandon Timms, Andrew Hughes, Matthew Hughes, Bethany Hughes and Ryan Hughes. The family will receive friends from 2:30 – 3:30 pm Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 4:00PM Wednesday, November 5, 2014 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. William Yon, Jr. and Rev. Jason Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family is at the home of Lee and Kristin Hughes in Abbeville.
