Robert Jay 'Jaybird' Percival

Robert Jay ‘Jaybird’ Percival, 63, of Parksville, SC son of the late Jimmie H. and Kathryne Schumpert Percival passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Magnolia Manor in Spartanburg, SC.

 Jay enjoyed rock and roll music and blue grass festivals. He will be remembered by many in a special way. The family would like for each of you to listen to the song ‘Free Bird’ by Lynard Skynard in his memory and rejoice that he is free of this world and be thankful that he has joined his loved ones in heaven.

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Bobby Broome; two brothers-in-law, Ray Butler and Ray Ardis; his beloved horse, Skeeter and his special canine friend, FiFi.

 Jay is survived by his siblings, Peggy Ardis of Lexington, SC, Connie P. Link (Charles), Kitty P. Butler both of McCormick, SC and Jimmy H. Percival (Loretta) of Parksville, SC; a very special friend, Judy B. Self of Parksville, SC; and a nephew, several nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.

 Graveside services will be 10:00AM, Monday, July 1, 2024, in the Parksville Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Craig McDaniel officiating.

 Memorial contributions, in memory of Jay, may be sent the Parksville Baptist Church, Mission Fund, 131 Parks-Self St., Parksville, SC 29844.
