Roger Davis

Roger Allen Davis, 66, husband of Judy Moss Davis, of Abbeville died peacefully Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Hospice House in Greenwood with his family by his side. He was born in Abbeville to the late Ralph M. Davis and Sallie ‘Myrt’ Satcher Davis.

A 1970 graduate of Abbeville High School, he also studied at Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood. Roger was a loyal employee of Milliken & Co. and Sage Automotive Interiors for 42 years where he retired. He was a longtime member of South Side Baptist Church in Abbeville where he served as Sunday School secretary and as teller for the church. Roger loved his family; his devotion to them was easily apparent. His quiet nature and friendly smile quickly expressed his caring personality.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert M. ‘Bobby’ Davis.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judy, of the home; his sons, Chris Davis and his wife, Misty, of Abbeville and Tony Davis and his wife, Jana, of Honea Path; a brother, Kenneth ‘Mike’ Davis, and his wife, Phyllis, of Abbeville; a sister-in-law, Jayne H. Davis, of Cedar Bluff, AL; an aunt, Ann Davis, of Abbeville; and his three grandchildren, Makenna Davis, Leighton Davis and Bo Davis.

The family will receive friends 6:00PM – 8:00PM Monday, February 19, 2018 at Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville. Funeral services will be 3:00PM Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at South Side Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
