Ronnie V. ‘Tweety’ Carver, 73, of Abbeville, died Friday, September 4, 2020 at Self Regional Medical Center. He was born in Greenville, the son of the late Ann Winkler Johnson.
A 1966 graduate of Abbeville High School, Ronnie was a truck driver by profession for many years. He had a keen interest in airplanes, whether it was collecting model planes or building a WWI replica, which he flew himself. Ronnie enjoyed the outdoors and spent many happy hours on the lake together with his longtime girlfriend, Jackie.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Marshall McCurry.
Ronnie is survived by his children, Frankie Carver Fisher and her husband, Chris, and Wesley Carver, all of Abbeville; his girlfriend, Jackie Lewis, of Charleston; a sister, Barbara McCurry, of Abbeville; three grandchildren, Alec and Zane Fisher and Cassandra McCarthy; two great-grandchildren, Amber and Jacob; and his nieces, Marsha Erwin (Charles) of Abbeville and Lisa Ruth (Charles) of Irmo.
A service to celebrate Tweety’s life will be 11:00AM, Saturday, September 12, 2020 in Rocky River Presbyterian Church with Rev. Corrina Gambrell officiating. The family will greet with friends following the service.
