Rosa Lillian Campbell Blanchett

March 17, 1915 — January 2, 2009

Lillian Campbell Blanchett, 93, of Abbeville, wife of the late James J. "Bum" Blanchett, Sr., died Friday, January 2, 2009 at her residence. She was born in the Nation Community of Abbeville to the late Graydon and Essie Childs Campbell. Mrs. Blanchett retired from the Abbeville Milliken Plant and was co-founder and current member of Missionary Movement Church in Abbeville. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend to many. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Gordon Campbell; two sisters, Anne Shirley and Sybil Sorrow; a granddaughter, Joyce La Wayne Blanchett. Mrs. Blanchett is survived by her two sons, Wayne Blanchett of Cantonment, FL and James J. Blanchett, Jr. of Marion, Ala.; three daughters, Linda Ouzts of Marysville, CA, Martha Ann Henderson of Rome, GA and Nancy Bowie of Abbeville; two brothers, Bennett Campbell of Abbeville and Sonny Campbell of Spartanburg; four sisters, Alieen O'Shields of Virginia, Eva Ruth Griffin of Waldo, FL, Vara Holden of Abbeville and Jackie Williams of Greenwood; twelve grand-children, twenty-four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM to 11:00AM Monday, January 5, 2009 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services officiated by the Rev. Tye Sorrow and Grandson Bob Ouzts will begin at 11:00AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery. The family is at the residence of Mrs. Blanchett. Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Blanchett may be sent to the Craftsman For Christ, 613 Bogue Rd. Yuba City, CA 95991 or to the Hospice Care of the Piedmont 480 W. Alexander Ave. Greenwood, SC 29648.
