Ruth Singleton Lindsay, 81, wife of the late James Cleo Lindsay, of Antreville, died Monday, July 23, 2012 at her home. She was born in Kannapolis, NC to the late Ibzan Frank and Carrie Reynolds Singleton. Mrs. Lindsay retired from Milliken with 25 years of dedicated service and then went to work for DHEC. She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church and will be remembered as a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Lindsay; a brother and two sisters. Mrs. Lindsay is survived by a son, Jerry Lindsay (Karen Smith); a daughter, Lisa Lindsay Green (Greg), both of Antreville; a brother, Roy Singleton, of Decatur, AL; two sisters, Wilma S. Norris and Helen S. Mobley, both of Abbeville; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristy, Robbie, Randy, Carrie and Scotti; and fourteen great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 11:30AM to 1:00PM on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 1:00PM in the church with Rev. Ray Hansel and Rev. Tommy Alewine officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the home.
