Sara Ione Campbell Temple, 81, of Abbeville, wife of the late Walter M. Temple, died peacefully Saturday, January 29, 2011, at the Hospice House in Greenwood. Mrs. Temple was born in Abbeville County to the late William C. and Emily Mae Hill Campbell. She retired from the Abbeville Shirt Makers after many years of dedicated service. Mrs. Temple or "Granny" Temple as she was most affectionately called was a faithful member of Midway Baptist Church where she was active in the WMU. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gene Temple; and three brothers, Jack Campbell, W.C. Campbell, and Maurice Campbell. Mrs. Temple is survived by two sons, Jack Able of Abbeville and Ikey Temple and wife, Lisa, of Easley, SC; one daughter, Diane Culbreth, and her husband, Ronny, of Abbeville; two daughters-in-law, Debbie N. Temple and Patsy Able, both of Abbeville; one sister, Hilda Forrester, of Abbeville; eight grandchildren, Allison Rogers, Cristy Evans and her husband Scott, Chad Culbreth and his wife Patty, Jimmy Temple and his wife Michelle, Kim Nickles and her husband Travis, Tony Temple and his wife Shannon, Jeanne Price and her husband Wayne and Amy Ricketts and her husband Jamie; sixteen great-grandchildren and a host of wonderful friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Monday, January 31, 2011 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Midway Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Greer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
