Sarah Hunter Pressly, 88, of Due West, widow of the Rev. Dr. Francis Young Pressly, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, December 31, 2009. She was born in Little Rock, AR to the late John L. and Sarah Douglass Hunter. Mrs. Pressly was a graduate of Erskine College and the University of South Carolina and was a member of Bethlehem A.R.P Church in Due West. In 1947, Dr. and Mrs. Pressly became devoted missionaries to Pakistan for the World Witness A.R.P. Church. After the death of Dr. Pressly, Mrs. Pressly continued as a missionary in Pakistan until her retirement in 1987. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a half-brother, Albert Sims Hunter. Surviving Mrs. Pressly is her daughter, Sally P. Lollis and her husband Roger of Westminster, SC; a son, Francis H. Pressly of Due West, SC; a brother, John Morton Hunter of Aiken, SC; two grandchildren, Joseph Lollis of Westminster, SC and C. Brian Pressly of Lexington, SC; and three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Tristan and Carmen Sarah Pressly. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 1:30PM in the Due West A.R.P. Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the services in the fellowship hall of the Due West A.R.P Church.
