Sennia "Ashley" Wilson
November 2, 1924 — January 8, 2019
Sennia Ashley Wilson, 94, of Abbeville, wife of the late Joe M. Wilson, Sr., died Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the Abbeville Nursing Home. She was born in Union County, NC to the late Sam Henry and Jenny Ghant Ashley.
Mrs. Wilson retired from Milliken & Co. – Abbeville Plant with many years of dedicated service as an inspector in the Cloth Room. She was a member of Abbeville First Baptist Church and the Tweenagers Group. Her passion after retirement was volunteering in the community having offered her time and services with the Abbeville Area Medical Center, John de la Howe, Second Chances and the Hospice Store.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her children, Joe Wilson, Jr. (Karen) and Nancy Reece (Sammy Hall) all of Abbeville; two sisters, Mildred Phillips and Brenda Hill, both of Monroe, NC; six grandchildren, Spencer Sorrow, Jr., Brian Sorrow, Bill Wilson, Michael Wilson, Shannon Jensen and Scott Outz; and twelve great-grandchildren.
The family expresses their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, CNAs, staff and friends at the Abbeville Nursing Home for the loving and attentive care given to their mother.
Funeral services will be 2:00PM Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville Chapel with Rev. Moses Aleman and Rev. Johnny Waller officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Nancy Reece, 214 Wilewood Rd., Abbeville, SC 29620.
