Shirley K. Bloss

Shirley Kay Bloss, 67, born June 24, 1957, in Charleston, WV, passed away February 15,2025 in her home after a long illness. She was the daughter of Charles E. and Lonnie Belle Geer Mills and grew up in Huntington, WV, alongside her siblings. 

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jimmy Mills, and her sister Carolyn Ross. 

She is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, Jack E. Bloss Jr.; her daughter, April Skeens; her brothers, Charlie and John Mills; her sisters, Joyce Mills and Bonnie Nelson; her grandchildren, Taylor, Devon, and Chad; and her great-granddaughters, Kynlee, Maddelynn, Aubriegh, and Harlow. She also leaves behind her longtime friend Pamela Arthur Young, who she loved very much.

Recently, Shirley moved to South Carolina to be closer to her beloved grandchildren. She found joy in watching football—always cheering for her favorite team. The Dallas Cowboys—and treasured every moment spent with her granddaughters. 

She was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
