Shirley Driver James, 70, of Lowndesville, wife of Billy Ray James, died Sunday, December 18, 2016 at her home. She was born in Lowndesville to the late Weldon Shaw and Daisy Parnell. Shirley retired from the Rocky River Plant with over 30 years of dedicated service. Following retirement, she was employed at the Iva Nursing Home – Willow Creek for three years. Shirley was a member of the Lowndesville Baptist Church where she served as Choir Director, Youth Sunday School teacher, and the Sunday School Secretary. The light of Shirley's life was her family whom she loved beyond measure. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Louise McMahan; two half-brothers, Gene Shaw and Gary Shaw. Shirley is survived by her husband of 43 years of the home; a son, Eddie Driver and his wife, Annette of Abbeville; two daughters, Lisa Driver and Sally Taylor and her husband, Brad all of Lowndesville.; a sister, Connie Powell of Lowndesville; three half-brothers, Benson Shaw, Sonny Shaw, and Robert Shaw; five half-sisters, Dixie Sorrow, Debbie Campbell, Faye Whitfield, Mandy Burton, and Ann Shaw; five grandchildren, Tiffany Driver, Justin Richey, Breanna Osborne, Brayden Taylor, and Gracie Taylor; and three great-grandchildren, Dakota Holmes, Anzleigh George and Bryson Driver. The family will receive friends 6:00PM – 8:00PM, Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville. Funeral services will be 1:00PM, Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Lowndesville Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Griggs and Rev. Scotty Willoughby officiating.
