Simon J. Hershberger, 80, of the Cold Springs Community, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at his home. He was born in Lynnhaven, VA on July 30, 1930 and moved to South Carolina in 1970. He was the founder of Hershberger Cabinets and was also a custom home builder. He was named the 2001 Abbeville Cattlemen Association Beef Farmer of the Year and was a member of Whispering Pines Mennonite Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary L. Hershberger. He is survived by a son, Wesley Hershberger (Sandra), of Abbeville; four daughters, Marge Mullet (Paul) and Marilyn Yoder (Ivan), both of Columbus, NC, Judy Mullet (Myron) of Abbeville, and Debbie Graber (Gary) of Eureka, NV; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Fannie Weaver (Noah) of Carrollton, GA, Malinda Hershberger of Augusta, GA and Esther Kuhns (Menno) of Arthur, IL. The family will receive friends from 5:30PM to 8:00PM on Friday, March 25, 2011 at Whispering Pines Mennonite Church, 7085 Highway 20, Honea Path, SC.
