Stanley Carl Abremski, Sr., 78, of Donalds, SC and New Park, PA, husband of Marlene Brown Abremski, died Friday, July 22, 2022 at the Hospice House in Greenwood. He was born in Shamokin, PA to the late Joseph S. Rozyckie and Mildred L. Schriver Abremski.
Mr. Abremski attended Parkville High School in Baltimore, MD. Then, he began his work at UPS as an auto mechanic with more than 30 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed the outdoors, staying busy with home projects and mowing grass on his farm. Mr. Abremski took pride in volunteering at M.J. ‘Dolly’ Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, SC. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Freedom, PA and worshipped at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abbeville, SC.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Anne Abremski.
Mr. Abremski, fondly known to many as ‘Pop’, is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marlene; his children, Tammy Breaud and her husband, Wade, of Donalds, SC; Chris Abremski, Sr. and wife, Bonnie, of Red Lion, PA, Stan Abremski, Jr. of Baltimore, MD, and John Abremski of WA; three brothers, Ron Abremski of Lewes, DE, Larry Abremski of White Marsh, MD and Bob Abremski of Georgetown, DE; two sisters, Joanne Fortner of Newark, DE and Barbara Lipana of CA; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be 1:00PM, Monday, August 29, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Father Jacob Joseph officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to the M.J. ‘Dolly’ Cooper Veterans Cemetery, Attn: Stan ‘Pop’ Abremski Volunteer Memorial Garden, 140 Inway Drive, Anderson, SC 29621. A volunteer memorial garden, including a plaque with his name, will be established in his memory.
