Sue Sorrow Hanks, 80, of Abbeville, wife of the late Tillman Antney Hanks, died Monday, October 23, 2017 at the Hospice House in Greenwood. She was born in Abbeville to the late Seth and Sybil Campbell Sorrow. Mrs. Hanks was a 1955 graduate of Abbeville High School. She was employed with Erskine College for many years and volunteered at the Abbeville Area Medical Center. Mrs. Hanks was a member of Rice Memorial Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Kerry Marquis of Clearwater, FL, Robin Brock (Richard) of Abbeville, SC and Selena Bridwell (Blake) of Lexington, SC; five brothers, Steve Sorrow (Ruth Terry) of Rome, GA, Sam Sorrow of Abbeville, SC, Stuart Sorrow of Siler City, NC, Vic Sorrow (Jean) and Spencer Sorrow (Suzanne), both of Abbeville, SC; a sister, Sandra Gipson of Rome, GA; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a very special family friend, Tiffany Freese. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM to 11:00AM Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11:30AM on Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Tye Sorrow and Rev. Jimmy Tucker officiating. Private family burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery.
