Sue Snipes, 90, of Calhoun Falls, wife of W. F. ‘Bill’ Snipes, died Friday, August 3, 2018, at her home. She was born in Ware Shoals to the late Grover Boland and Annie Abercrombie Boland.
Mrs. Snipes enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers. Her creative ability was evidenced in her handcrafted dolls which were beautiful and brought her hours of enjoyment. Mrs. Snipes’ collection was admired and her design skill unsurpassed. She was a member of Rice Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gene Snipes; a brother, John Earl Boland; and a sister, Ruby Manley.
Mrs. Snipes is survived by her husband of 71 years of the home, Bill Snipes; two sons, John Snipes (Betzi), of Lake Secession and Bennie Snipes (Sherry), of Abbeville; a daughter, Connie S. Campbell (Larry) of Lincolnton, Ga; a brother, Frank Boland of Greenwood; seven grandchildren, Kandi Collins (Matt), Dustin Snipes, Brian Campbell, Kelli Robertson (Allen), Benjamin Snipes (Sharon), Krista Snipes and Jonathan Snipes (Anna); twelve great-grandchildren, Austin, Keegan, Kolt, Ella Brian, Allie Drake, Campbell, William, Leigha, Britton, Harper, Matthew and Hollis; and her beloved dog, Bogey, who was her constant companion.
Graveside services will be 3:00PM, Saturday, August 4, 2018, in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Rev. Alvin Hodges officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
