Susan Bailey Powell

Susan Bailey Powell, 82, of Rt. 1 McCormick died Thursday, December 16, 2004 at the Hospice House of the Upstate. She was first married to the late Clyde L. Faggart and then to the late Rufus B. Powell. Mrs. Powell was born in Elberton, GA to the late Dr. D.V. and Susan Mildred Stephens Bailey. Being very active was something Mrs. Powell enjoyed; she was an active member of the McCormick United Methodist Church, a member and volunteer to many organizations such as, the Eastern Star, John De La Howe School, American Red Cross, Hospice of the Piedmont, and the McCormick County Health Department. Surviving Mrs. Powell is her son, Robert "Bob" Faggart of Abbeville, and a step-son, Mike Powell of Abbeville, a daughter, Susan F. Long of Anderson and a step-daughter, Patsy Thomason of Abbeville, a brother, Col. Jack S. Bailey, Ret. of Augusta, GA, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00PM Sunday, December 26, 2004 at the McCormick United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
