Thomas Joseph "Tj" Heslin Jr.

Thomas Joseph Heslin, Jr., “TJ”, 62, husband of Theresa Colonna Heslin, of Abbeville, died Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Hospice House in Greenwood, SC. He was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Thomas Joseph Heslin, Sr. and Edna Martin Heslin.

For 38 years, Mr. Heslin was employed with the Detroit News & Press. After his tenure there, he began truck driving for A&R Logistics in Illinois. He was enthusiastic about his days on the road. Racecars, motorcycles and model boats were his favorite hobbies. TJ was an amazing father; in addition to being passionate about his children, he often gave his time and talent to coaching their baseball teams.

TJ is survived by his wife of 28 years of the home; his children, Brooke Elizabeth Heslin, his “Doodle” of the home and Thomas Joseph Heslin, III, his “Buddy” of Michigan; two sisters, Noreen Klink, of Battle Creek, MI and Cathy Strohm (Steve) of Seabring, FL; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family, including Bo and Dawn Simpson and Michael Graham and a wide circle of friends. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Mario.

A Celebration of TJ’s life will be 5:00PM – 7:00PM Monday, January 29, 2018 at Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville Chapel.
