Tommy Ashley

Tommy Paul Ashley, 76, of Honea Path, husband of Donna Branyon Ashley, died Friday, December 20, 2024 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson. He was born in Anderson to the late Joseph Paul Bradley and Sadie Holland Ashley.

A 1965 graduate of Dixie High School, Tommy furthered his education at Forrest Junior College. He honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star for his bravery and commitment. Tommy worked diligently in the metal manufacturing industry retiring from Timken in Honea Path. He enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought him joy and fulfillment. Tommy was an avid collector of arrowheads and found peace in hunting, gardening and fishing. He treasured every moment he spent watching his grandchildren play ball, taking pride in their accomplishments. Tommy was a member of Keowee Baptist Church and worshipped at New Hope Baptist Church, cherishing the friendships and love of God he found there.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 48 years, Donna, of the home; a daughter, Ruth Ashley Moon (Brian) of Honea Path; two sons, Paul Branyon Ashley (Jennifer) of Honea Path and Rev. Richard Bolt Ashley (Lindsay) of Due West; brother, Danny Ashley (Donna) of Due West; five grandchildren, Lydia Moon, Will Moon, Norah Ashley, Quinn Ashley and Lawton Ashley; mother-in-law, Ruth Branyon and brother-in-law, Rick Branyon, both of Honea Path. 

The family will receive friends 4:00PM – 6:00PM, Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM, Monday, December 23, 2024, at Keowee Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Bolt Ashley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
