Vicki Jordan Loyd, 74, of Abbeville, SC died Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the Abbeville Area Medical Center. She was born in Wrightsville, GA to the late Roy and Carabelle Claxton Jordan.
Mrs. Loyd was a graduate of Johnson County High School, North Georgia College and University of Georgia. Vicki and Charles moved from Athens, GA to Abbeville in the early 1960’s. She began her career at Pirelli Cable; after 35 years as Customer Service Manager at Flexible Technologies, Vicki retired in 2007. She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Abbeville Cotillion Club and The McCormick Southern Belle Red Hatters. Vicki was an avid golfer, played bridge weekly, and enjoyed traveling throughout the world. She and her family were enthusiastic Georgia Bulldogs fans and spent weekends attending games and cheering on her Dawgs.
In addition to her beloved husband of 51 years, Doc Loyd, and her parents, Vicki was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Jordan, Jr. and two sisters, Gloria Jordan Almand and Carolyn Jordan Ray.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Loyd of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Nicole Rogers (Jim) of Greenville; step-son, Russell Alan Loyd of Augusta, GA; a brother-in-law, William Almand, of Conyers, GA; four grandchildren, Taylor Loyd, Madison Loyd, Jennifer Branch and Russell Loyd, Jr. and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 1:00PM – 2:00PM, Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 2:30PM in Abbeville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles ‘Chip’ Ray, Vicki’s nephew, officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions, in memory of Richard ‘Rich’ Avery Rabb, Jr. (special family friend), may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38101-9950.
