Virginia Freeland Culbreath, 88, of Plum Branch, died Saturday, September 15, 2007 at her residence. She was born in Plum Branch to the late Hugh Manning and Lula Self Freeland. Mrs. Culbreath was a graduate of Lander University with a B.A. in Education; a graduate of the University of S.C. with a B.A. in Library Science; and a graduate of Appalachian State University with a Masters in Library Science. She was a member of the Plum Branch Baptist Church. Mrs. Culbreath retired as a librarian from the McCormick County Public School System. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Hugh Margaret F. Wellborn and Mary Lee Freeland. She is survived by a daughter, Ann and her husband Don P. Williams of Swainsboro, GA; a brother, Manning Corey Freeland of Plum Branch; four sisters, Carolyn F. Winn and Cornelia F. Collier of Plum Branch, Mabel F. Hemminger of Abbeville, and Frances Marian F. Jones of Augusta, GA; a grandson, Joel P. Williams; and three great-grandchildren, Blake, Rachel, and Brian Williams. A Memorial service will be held at 11:30AM Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at Plum Branch Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the residence.
