Wade Wiles, 85, of the Antreville Community, husband of Ellen Ruth Forrester Wiles, died Thursday, September 2, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Anderson to the late Arline Wiles.
Mr. Wiles was a 1954 graduate of Iva High School. He was employed by the Hydro Plant in Abbeville, retiring after 32 years of service. Mr. Wiles enjoyed time spent hunting, farming and taking great pride in tending his garden. A charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, he served as treasurer, Deacon and sang in the choir. Mr. Wiles was also a member of the Dew Drop Lodge in Antreville.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Phil Gosnell.
Mr. Wiles is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ellen, of the home; daughter, Cheryl W. Gosnell of Antreville; son, Levi Bell (Wendy) of Due West; sister-in-law, Betty Fleming and niece, Angie Fleming (Dale) all of Antreville; and his beloved dog, Dino.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to Robin Jones, Lynn Mabry, the staff of Home Health Care and Agape Hospice for the love and compassion shown Mr. Wiles.
The family will receive friends from 2:00PM - 3:00PM, Sunday, September 5, 2021, in Emmanuel Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 3:00PM in the church sanctuary with Rev. Tommy Alewine officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
