Willene Nelson Driggers Elingburg, 66, of Greenwood, wife of John Elingburg, died peacefully on Friday, November 6, 2015 at the Hospice House in Greenwood. She was born in Abbeville to the late Willie Thomas Nelson and Ola Mae Powell Nelson. She was a 1967 graduate of Calhoun Falls High School. For many years Mrs. Elingburg faithfully served as a member of the Calhoun Falls Pentecostal Holiness Church. In recent years she and her husband John have been dedicated members of Rice Memorial Baptist Church. She worked at Burlington Industries, Pirelli Cable (Prysmian), and retired from Self Regional Healthcare in 2014. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James L. 'Jimmy' Driggers, a brother, Billy Nelson and two great-grandchildren, Hayden James Purdy and Aaden James Purdy. Mrs. Elingburg is survived by her husband, John, of the home; her children, Sandy Driggers Purdy (Roger), Jody Driggers (Alison) both of Abbeville; Kelly Elingburg Sago (Denny) of Irmo, Scott Elingburg (Emilee) and Mark Elingburg (Rebecca) both of Charleston; a sister-in-law, Barbra Nelson of Ninety Six, SC; six grandchildren, Eric, Brittany, Stone, Cole, Kyleigh and Darcy and two great-grandchildren, Aubri and Ally. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:30PM Monday, November 9, 2015 at Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville Chapel. Funeral services will begin Monday at 3:00PM in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Jimmy Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
