William C. 'Bo' Simpson

William C. ‘Bo’ Simpson, 88, beloved husband, father, brother, son, cousin and friend passed away December 7, 2024, at Self Regional Healthcare. Born in Abbeville, he was the husband of Dawn Faulkner Simpson and son of the late William Wheeler and Guanel Martin Simpson.

A proud graduate of Abbeville High School, Class of 1954, Bo honorably served his country in the United States Navy. After completing his military service, he returned to Abbeville and began his professional journey with Pirelli Cable, retiring after 30 years of dedicated service.

Most importantly, his faith was the cornerstone of his life. Bo loved his church, Sharon Methodist, with all his heart. A firm believer in the power of prayer, he practiced it daily, asking God for His blessings on many individuals.

An avid fisherman and camper, you could often find him on Clarks Hill or Lake Russell in ‘Bo’s Toy’ enjoying the quiet of the lake. When he was not fishing, Bo delighted in gardening, nurturing both flowers and vegetables with a tender touch. He also found happiness in visiting the racetrack and watching NASCAR events. 

Bo is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dawn; two children, Thomas and E.D.; sister, Elsie R. Simpson; nephew, Kristian Earle; and a myriad of cousins and close family friends.

A service to celebrate Bo’s life will be 1:00PM, Thursday, December 12, 2024, in the Harris Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Sam Thomason officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

The family extends their sincere appreciation to Dr. Heidi and the staff of the Abbeville Area Healthcare Center and Dr. Sadurski and staff of the Cancer Center in Greenwood for their loving care and support.
