W.J. “Bill” Metzmeier, 90, of Hodges, SC, formerly of Tampa, FL, husband of the late Mona Irene Tackett Metzmeier, died Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at his home. He was born in Louisville, KY to the late Anthony Louis and Norene Riley Metzmeier. Bill honorably served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was an accomplished lithographic plate maker owning his business, Ideal Graphics. In addition to his printing interests, he was also a woodworking craftsman. Bill was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Seffner, FL. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Ann Metzmeier and two sisters, Mary Jane and Margaret Ann. He is survived by a daughter, Terri Singleton, of Hodges, SC; two sons, Steven Metzmeier and his wife, Karen, of Tampa, FL and Tony Metzmeier of Greenwood, SC; a brother, Jim Metzmeier; three sisters, Mary Frances Kernen, Norene Wessel and Roseann Wiebe; twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 22, 2017, at Landmark Baptist Church, 6021 Williams Road, Seffner, FL 33584.
