William E. Gene Temple

William E. "Gene" Temple, 51, husband of Debbie Norryce Temple of 822 Bulls Horne Rd. Abbeville died Tuesday, February 24, 2004 at Self Regional Medical Center. He was born in Abbeville to Sara Campbell Temple and the late Walter M. Temple, Sr. Mr. Temple was a 1970 graduate of Abbeville High School, a former employee with the Duke Power – Water Department Division as a Lab Technician, he was an active member of Midway Baptist Church where he was past chairman of the Deacon Board, a member of the Joy Sunday School Class, the Brotherhood, and the Adult Choir. Gene will be remembered as being a faithful husband, father, grandfather, and great friend to all. Surviving Mr. Temple is his wife of 32 years of the home, two daughters, Jeanne Temple Price and her husband Wayne of Abbeville, and Amy Temple Ricketts and her husband Jamie of Abbeville, two brothers, Jack Able and his wife Patsy of Abbeville, and Ikey Temple of Abbeville, one sister, Diane Culbreth and her husband Ronnie of Abbeville, three grandchildren, Kaleigh Price, Collin Price, and Bethany Ricketts all of Abbeville. The family will receive friends 6:00PM to 8:00PM Thursday, February 26, 2004 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM Friday, February 27, 2004 at Midway Baptist Church officiating the service will the Rev. Bruce Moore, Rev. Terry Greer, and Dr. Bobby Jones. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
