Willie "Holmes" Shaw

Willie Holmes Shaw, 87, of Calhoun Falls, wife of the late Tolly Maxie ‘Tot’ Shaw, died Monday, March 11, 2019 at her residence. She was born Walhalla, SC to the late Lucius and Dora Pelfry Holmes.

Mrs. Shaw was a charter member of the Lake Russell Baptist Church; however, she worshipped at Calhoun Falls First Baptist Church when her health permitted. She was a devoted seamstress and a wonderful mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Neil Shaw; and five siblings, Dot, Polly, Buck, T.E. and Chick.

Mrs. Shaw is survived by her two children, Scott Shaw and his wife Susan of Asheville, NC and Linda Harris of Calhoun Falls, SC; six grandchildren, Tonya Loper, Daniel Shaw, Lib King, Matt Harris, Evan Shaw and Cecilia Shaw; five great-grandchildren, Kaley, Mattison, Bailey, Carter and Tyler; and two lifelong friends, Eleanor Holmes and Dailene White.

The family extends their sincere appreciation to Diane Baskins, Mrs. Shaw’s caregiver, for her care and support.

The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:30PM, Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Harris Funeral Home, Calhoun Falls Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 3:00PM on Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Douglas Huff and Rev. Donnie Murdock officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
