Wilma Uldrick Crawford

Wilma U. Crawford, 90, of Abbeville, wife of the late Ray A. Crawford, Sr., died, Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the Hospice House in Greenwood. She was born in Abbeville to the late Clyde Young and Maggie Stone Uldrick. Mrs. Crawford was a 1943 graduate of Abbeville High School. She was a long time dedicated member of Abbeville Presbyterian Church, Circle I, Adult Sunday School Class, Elder, and Moderator of APC Women of the Church which honored her with lifetime membership. Mrs. Crawford served as church secretary for a number of years. She retired from Self Memorial Hospital where she was employed in the Human Resource Department. A generous, loving and compassionate person, Mrs. Crawford found happiness in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a gracious hostess who enjoyed her home and entertained there on frequent occasions. Mrs. Crawford was steadfast and loyal, her character was exemplary. She leaves an inspiring legacy to all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Crawford will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ray A. 'Gus' Crawford, Jr. Mrs. Crawford is survived by her daughter Jane C. White and husband, David of Abbeville; daughter-in-law, Shirley Crawford of Abbeville; four grandchildren, Anna McMillan (Shawn), Will Crawford, Beth Cobb, and Emily White; four great-grandchildren, Anna Claire (Niu Niu), Sara Park (Yoo Ran), Campbell and Kennedy; a nephew, Bill Crawford (Barbara) of Lutz, FL; great-nephews, Jimmy Crawford of Destin, FL and Tom English (Lisa) of Nashville, TN; and a dear friend, Waymon Smith of Abbeville. The Crawford's extend their heart felt gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Abbeville Area Medical Center and Hospice Care of the Piedmont. The family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 3:00PM Friday, September 16, 2016 in Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 3:30PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. Greg Henley officiating. Burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery. The family is at the home of David and Jane White in Abbeville.
